SLUT+LIT=SLIT. In slit I try to present porn in a literary context; slutty literature. In that context it ceases to be "porn" and evolves into "erotica." (wordswordswords!) Erotic literature is like foreplay; it gently arouses. This gentle arousal is a necessary part of the sexual experience for most women, sometimes forgotten by men. Just like slit is a combination of words (slut and lit) that reflect the general theme of the piece, the pictures are a combination of personal shots and website photos that reflect a theme from each story. Some of these pictures are "natural" and some "contrived," like porn.

Nicollette Ramirez has written for print and online publications such as The Washington Square News, Night magazine and thewomb.com. She has won a fiction writing prize and an essay writing prize in the last two years and is currently completing a Creative Writing Program at NYU. She recently acquired an agent and is in the process of selling her first novel "Luna-A Book of Random Combinations." She is the founder and organizer of "Remote Readings" which aims to support the works of emerging and established authors through readings at Remote Lounge in New York City. Nicollette also serves on the Board of Directors of Music Omi, the sister program of Art Omi International Arts Center, which hosts musicians, writers and artists throughout the year.Nicollette was born in Trinidad and has lived in New York for eight years.
